Award-Winning Gastroenterologist and Researcher Robert Hardi, MD

For more than 40 years, Robert Hardi, MD, has been working as a gastroenterologist. Splitting his time among clinical practice, consulting, and medical research, he has held such posts as physician at Capital Digestive Care, principal investigator at Chevy Chase Clinical Research and serving in private practice in Washington, DC. Alongside these roles, he has taken on several academic appointments, like clinical associate professor of medicine at George Washington University Medical School. At present, Robert Hardi, MD, is medical director of Altimmune and chief clinical scientist for MediPredict. He is also principal at Chevy Chase Gastroenterology and gastroenterology consultant for Physician Associates.

A resident of Bethesda, MD, Dr. Robert Hardi maintains an active presence in the professional world. He is a Fellow of the the Academy of Physicians in Clinical Research, where he served as President twice ads is currently a member of the Board and is a fellow of the American Gastroenterological Association. Beyond that, he served as principal investigator for over 350 gastroenterology clinical trials. These trials encompassed all areas of his field, such as polyp prevention, inflammatory bowel disease and functional bowel diseases. Further, Dr. Hardi has received numerous professional accolades, including several Best Doctor awards from Washingtonian magazine.
